The Santa Monica College Dance Department provides aspiring dancers with rigorous and immersive training, mentorship, and performance experiences that prepare them to transfer to leading universities and pursue careers in the performing arts and related fields. Your support helps fund guest artists, student performances, production costs, scholarships, and innovative learning opportunities—ensuring every talented student has the opportunity to develop their artistry, share their voice, and take the next step toward a successful future. • A gift of $100 helps provide costumes, dance shoes, or other essential supplies that enable students to perform with confidence.
• A gift of $250 helps fund master classes and workshops led by professional dancers and choreographers, industry professionals, and wellness experts, exposing students to new techniques and industry perspectives.
• A gift of $500 helps offset production expenses, including lighting, sound, and stage equipment that bring student performances to life.
• A gift of $1,000 helps support student participation in festivals, competitions, or educational travel such as our Dance in New York City study tour that expands learning beyond the classroom.
• A gift of $2,500 supports the creation of new original choreography from acclaimed Southern California dance makers who mentor our students through the rehearsal and performance process.
• A gift of $5,000 helps underwrite a guest artist residency that includes master classes, workshops, and one-on-one student mentorship.
• A gift of $10,000 supports the creation of a new choreographic work from a nationally acclaimed dance maker.
• A gift of $25,000 helps underwrite an entire student dance production, creating transformative opportunities for student performers, choreographers, and production crews while enriching the cultural life of our campus and community.
