Barb was beloved as an occupational therapist and Registered Nurse. She was a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. Barb was an incredibly intelligent, kind, forward thinking woman. She treated all with compassion and kindness.

Barb was born in Willimantic, Connecticut to a family that highly valued education. She received a degree in Psychology from Syracuse University and a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from Columbia University but her dream was to be a nurse. As a single mother supporting three children, Barb attended Santa Monica College to fulfill her dream of becoming an RN. She spent the majority of her nursing career at UCLA . She finished her career as a Public Health Nurse.

Santa Monica College held a special place in Barb's life. Late in life, she also attended Santa Monica College's Emeritus Program.
