On August 19, 2014, The Santa Monica College family unexpectedly lost a dear friend
and colleague, Executive Vice President and Chief Instructional Officer Randal "Randy"
Lawson. His career spanned over 35 years and the impact he had on Santa Monica College
as well as the statewide system of community colleges and the students served cannot
be overstated. Randy will always be remembered as a friendly, outgoing man who was
dedicated to making access to education his personal, as well as his professional
mission.
In honor of Randy's commitment to student success and at the request of his family, the Santa Monica College Foundation is honored to establish the Randal Lawson Memorial Scholarship Fund in Randy's memory.
