Toshiro grew up in Culver City and spent the middle school, and high school years as an international student in Kobe, Japan, Mumbai, India and Tianjin, China.
Toshiro had a keen interest in music early in life and remained an eclectic music fan but it was his passion for environmental science that he was able to realize while studying at SMC. This, combined with a knowledge of computer programming skills learned at SMC led to productive internships with NASA and the Goddard Institute for Space Science.
Toshiro was loved and admired by many, he inspired those that knew him with his strength, integrity, humor, passion for life, science, and care for others.
With this scholarship we hope to nurture the quest for learning to more students at SMC in the studies of their choice. Education is the path to realizing your dreams.
